The Monat NOs

Updated: Jun 13, 2022

I often share how my hair has drastically changed since Monat, but I don't share WHY I switched to Monat. Did you know, Monat says NO to:

Parabens

Sulfates

DEA/MEA

Phthalates

Polyethylene Glycols (PEGs)

Phenoxyethanol

Ethanol

Petrochemicals

Glutens

Sodium Chloride and No Harsh Salt Systems

Harmful Colors

Harmful Fragrances

Did ya?

Not only do the products truly WORK and TRANSFORM hair and skin, they do so with none of the toxic crud that shouldn't be in our products we use. For example:

Sulfates: Can cause dry skin and hair, can give you dandruff and other signs of irritation like inflamed skin or red bumps. They can be contaminated with certain substances that may cause cancer over a long period of time. Inhaling sulfates could cause lung irritation and inflammation which over time, could open yourself up to future health concerns and serious risks.

Parabens: Can impact all stages of conception. Human and animal studies suggest that they may interfere with the ability to become pregnant. Women who consume higher amounts of parabens have lower antral follicle counts, which are a measure of egg supply for the future and therefore an indication of fertility. One human study found that pregnant mothers with the highest paraben levels had a greater chance of having a preterm birth and that babies conceived to these mothers had decreased gestational age at birth, lower birth weight and decreased body length.

Polyethylene Glycols (PEGs): Is derived from petroleum and is made from ethylene glycol. Ethylene glycol is the primary ingredient in anti-freeze.

Phthalates: Phthalates are synthetic chemicals used to make plastics flexible and to make products smell good. They are a type of endocrine disrupting chemicals which mean that they affect hormones. Phthalates in plastic can leach out of the plastic and cause health problems, especially for young children.

Phenoxyethanol: Several studies have been done that demonstrate phenoxyethanol's toxicity and the effects they have on the brain and nervous system, even at moderate concentrations.

This is a small, summarized list of just what these chemicals can do to our bodies. Do you really want to put that on your body or even your children's? Now, you may think, "It's such a small amount, it'll be fine". And to that I ask, what if all those start to add up? It's not just your shampoo you should be concerned about. Your water, food, air you breathe, other products you use, stuff you cook with, etc. It all adds up. There is a reason the fertility rate is down drastically than what it has been in past years :(

Ditch your toxic shampoo and try something that is much better for you and works better. Trust.
